Psalm

Because the LORD takes care of me, there's nothing I ever want. He gives me peaceful rest in safety. Being with him makes everything all right. He leads me where I should go and shows me what I should do to bring Him glory. Sometimes, when I'm in a desperate situation, I don't have to be afraid because He is with me, leading and guiding me, teaching and disciplining me, comforting me. When I am in the middle of my enemies, He's got my back and protects me. He blesses and consecrates me, giving me more than I'll ever need. His goodness, kindness and unfailing mercy will always be with me wherever I go for the rest of my life. I will make my home in His presence forever.

The week before Christmas 2009

'twas the night before the night before Christmas...

This past week's happenings: my daughter's best friend graduated from college as well as two former students of mine and another friend, two of my favorite young people at church became engaged to wed--not each other but their respective wonderful future spouses (spices, ???) and also my young cousin, a beautiful baby was born to a great couple and wonderful grandparents, and the life of a long-time friend ebbed away.

Congrats to graduates Rebecca, Joseph, Eliecia, and Nolan. Congrats also to Brent and Lacey, Samantha and Joe, Walt and Mere. Congrats to new parents Erin and Kevin, grandparents Keith and Karen, uncles Kody and Kegan.

Brinda Bass, I will miss you! I pray for your kids and grandkids right now that they find what they are looking for and realize that they've got a lot in each other.

Halfway there?

After all that cleaning and organizing, I am getting ready for my first ever (and truly, hopefully, my one and only) garage sale--which is something of a misnomer since we have a carport instead of an actual garage. I have placed an ad on our local area's website and Monday will start pricing things. We really don't have a whole lot compared to other sales I've driven by so I'm hoping everything goes quickly. Way too hot for being out there too long. And, even though I have a few things of mine in the bunch, the money will all go to my daughter who will be moving to her own place next month and can use all the help she can get.

Wow! She'll be moving out for real this time, not just to a dorm room or an apartment for the semester. She's all grownup and has a real job and will really be on her own: bills, car note, insurance, etc.

I really am happy for her and very proud. She will be a teacher having an impact on children's lives--daily! *sigh* and *smile* :)
