Currently, I am reading a book given to me by my daughter for Christmas. The title is A Spoonful of Sugar and is written by Brenda Ashford, a real life nanny. The book is written on the order of the Call the Midwife series, told in first person and deals with her daily life and fears and thoughts she has along the way. Ms. Ashford became a nanny during the early part of the 20th century and has worked with hundreds of children starting with her siblings. It is an easy read and a delight if you like period pieces and are fond of the Midwife series and Downton Abbey.

A New Quilting Book!

A new book came in today and I was so excited to get it! For quite a while now I have been interested in the Fibonacci sequence, I guess since I started taking pictures of my friend's sunflowers.

My passion for quilting pushed me to create a design for a quilt using the Fibonacci sequence but, try as I could, I am just not that good with math. BUT! I saw this picture

and found the pattern in this book!

I'm sure it will take me about a year to finish it but I'm eager to begin.
